SOLUTION
Utility Analytics

Providing the intelligence to make informed decisions

With the rapidly increasing volumes of data available in the utility landscape, specialised skills and techniques are essential to extract the inherent value and enable optimal decision-making. We have deep capability in the field and imbed these analytical tools into our products to automate as many of the processes as possible.

Analytics is not new to the industry, as it has always been employed to improve grid operations. However, an increasing volume of data is becoming available from new data sources such as IoT devices in the field, asset management, AMI/smart meters, and geographical information systems.

These new data sources enable the development of analytics models based on statistics, machine learning and big data solutions to assist utilities to make decisions in a complex environment. Utility analytics touches every link of the utility value chain, including optimal management of primary fuel and other resources, control of energy flows, regulating the grid, effective workflow, maintenance management, losses management, and theft/fraud identification.

We’ve been at the forefront of utility analytics since the late 1990s, and the African leaders in the forecasting of electricity demand for over two decades.

Our specialist team comprises highly experienced and qualified statisticians, engineers, mathematicians and IT professionals who are passionate about scientific, statistical and technological advancements to support customer decision-making.

We have a track record in the industry in a broad range of areas, and are thus able to bring this experience to bear in our product suites in the Energy Trading, Demand Response, and Energy Data Management environments.
